LINDA LOU (PAUL) WARD, age 72, of Washington CH, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 5:30 p.m. at the Fayette County Memorial Hospital. She was born on April 14, 1943 in Washington CH to Henry and Marie Gregory Paul. She had worked at Orient State for 15 years, and later worked at the Case Convalescent Center. She had attended the former First Christian Church. She enjoyed playing Canasta (Hand in Foot), Bingo, enjoyed nature and feeding squirrels, and especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph "Joe" Ward, grandchildren, Austin Whiddon and Ella Lou Ward as well as three brothers and two sisters. Survivors include her children Joe W. (Sharon) Ward, Ronnie (Micki) Ward both of Washington CH, and Wendy (James) Manning of Jeffersonville; grandchildren Shanna Cartmell, Ryan Cartmell (special friend, Jamie Coonrod), Joseph (Amanda) Ward, Colt Ward (special friend, Ashley Baker), Melissa (Brandon) Noel, Heidi (Tyler) Maynard, and Craig Jones; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; siblings Ernie (Brenda) Paul of Jamestown, Martha Mallow of Washington CH, Henrietta (Roger) Rittenhouse of South Solon; special nieces Debbie Blakely and Lori Marcum as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Steve Henderson officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery.
