LOIS MARIE GILPEN, age 67, of Bainbridge, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

She was born on July 14, 1955 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late James Howard and Clair Ellen (Green) Mark. She attended Madison South High School and graduated from Clark State College with a degree in Horticulture. Lois worked in a greenhouse for most of her life. She was a faithful member at Bible Baptist Temple in Washington CH. She enjoyed gardening, singing, going to church, cooking, and she loved birds.

In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Cary E. "Bo" Gilpen; and her son, Matthew Brian Johnson.

Survivors include her children, Mark (Kelly) Johnson, Valerie Johnson and her fiancé, Chester Wells, Amanda (Justin) West, Rebecca (Danny) Derreberry, Cory L. (Anastasia) Gilpen, and Cody A. Gilpen; grandchildren, Christina (Troy), Morgan, Christopher (Tasha), Alecia, Jordan, Paige, Courtney, Alexander (Aubrey), Cheyanne, Jaylynn, Journie, Faith, Kolton, Kora, Dragon, Saizia, Isabel, and Gabriel; numerous great-grandchildren; and sisters, Judy (Haywood) Giles, and Catherine (Earl) Green. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bible Baptist Temple, 4361 St Rt 41 NW, Washington CH, OH 43160, with Pastor Elwood Green officiating with burial to follow at Wheeler Cemetery in Lucasville. Family and friends may visit at the church on Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
