Obituary

LONNIE D. ADAMS, age 59, of Washington CH, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at his home after a short battle with cancer. He had been diagnosed with lung cancer in January of 2016. Although his fight was short, he fought with admirable strength and courage. He was born on November 11, 1956 to the late Paul and Judy Adams. He was a 1976 graduate of Miami Trace High School. He worked hard throughout his life from the time he was sixteen until shortly after his initial diagnosis. If you asked Lonnie to reflect on his life, the things that matter the most to him were easily identifiable. He was a devoted employee to Yusa Corporation for 28 years as a manufacturing coordinator. He enjoyed his work, his sense of accomplishment over the years, and the people he worked alongside. Secondly, was his avid love of music. He was a founding member and percussionist for the bank Krank. The past ten years of his talent had been devoted to the band Blunt Force Karma. He traveled many miles throughout his lifetime attending concerts, Rush being his all-time favorite, and his final days were spent with his family at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Music was a huge part of who Lonnie was and how he reached others. Most importantly, the thing that mattered most to Lonnie was his family. Survivors include his wife, Chrystle, whom he married on December 31, 1983. During their 32 years of marriage they were blessed with two children, Kaili and Austin. In his eyes, his children were his greatest accomplishments. He was always so proud of his kids often remarking to Austin's unrelenting work ethic and Kaili's devotion to her role as a mother. It is from his daughter, that his greatest pride and joy was made possible. His granddaughter, Landri R. Adams, was the center of his world. His favorite times were their Fridays that they spend just the two of them. He made a huge impact on those who were fortunate enough to have him as part of their lives. Lonnie leaves behind a legacy of love that include his wife, Chrystle Shipley Adams and his children Kaili and Austin Adams; siblings Paul (Christi) Adams Jr., Pam Merritt, Amber Adams (Julie) Valerie Taylor, Scott Brown, and Rosemary (James) Marine; step-mother Nancy Adams; nieces and nephews Brandon (Gina) Marine, Tiffany (Aaron) Bridges, Emily Lake, Jessica Schafer, Scott, Timothy, and Doug Eggleton; many great nieces and nephews as well as special friends Ray Emerick, Marc Harrell, Tony Sword, Denny Satterfield, Derek Beckman, Fred McKirgan, Allen Anshutz, and Scott Mullen. The family invites anyone who knew and loved Lonnie to the visitation on Saturday, April 16, 2016 from 1-4 p.m. at the South Side Church of Christ, 921 S. Fayette St., Washington CH. The funeral service will immediately follow, with ordained minister Scott Mullen officiating.
