LOREN LELAND "LEE" BUTCHER, JR., age 82, of Washington CH, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Carriage Court of Washington CH. Lee's beloved wife, Martha Joan (Crabtree) Butcher passed away less than twenty-four hours after her husband.

He was born on November 6, 1942 in Lawrence, Kansas to the late Loren, Sr., and Mary (Pence) Butcher. He was a 1960 graduate of Washington High School in Lewistown, Ohio. Lee proudly served his county in the United States Air Force and the Air Force Reserves. He retired in 1985 after twenty years of service as an officer for the Ohio State Highway Patrol; after retirement, he worked for R&L Carriers in Wilmington. He was a member of the Jeffersonville United Methodist Church and The Good Hope Lions Club. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, golfing, bowling, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Survivors include his children, Chris Brown, Steve (Tammy) Butcher, Nikki Dunn, Teresa (Douglas) Phillips, and Scott Butcher; thirteen grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren; and siblings, Don (Louise) Butcher, and Gloria Clay. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Knauff officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday evening from 4-7:00 p.m. Also, a Good Hope Lions service will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m.
