LOUEVA BLANCHE BICK CARRIGAN, age 93, of Washington CH, departed this life and went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 12:45 p.m. at the Mt. Carmel West Hospital.
She was born on August 14, 1924 in Liberty Township of Adams County near West Union to John R. and Dixie Bowman Bick. She was a 1942 graduate of Winchester High School. She had served as a clerical financial secretary at Gregg St. Church of Christ in Christian Union for more than 13 years and also had worked as the clerical financial secretary for Rev. Charles Williams Evangelistic Association. Loueva was a member of the Heritage Memorial Church, formerly the Gregg St. CCCU for over 65 years. She was also a member of the Good Will Sunday School Class where she served as secretary/treasurer for over 10 plus years. Prior to her marriage, she had worked at several restaurants in the Seaman area where she was the top waitress, as well as meeting her future husband there. She had also worked at the Hercules Trouser Factory in Hillsboro and also served as a babysitter to many children throughout her lifetime as well as being a caregiver to many elderly people in Fayette County.
Loueva was preceded in death by her parents, brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Laura Bick, brother, James Bick, brother-in-law, Wayne Forsythe, nephew, Charles Melton, and great-nephew, Brett Melton.
She is survived by her husband, George Carrigan, whom she married on January 18, 1949 in the parsonage of Rev. and Mrs. S.G. Williams of Urbana. Also surviving is her sister, Velma B. Forsythe, brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Barbara Bick, sister-in-law, Janet Bick, and her husband's sister, Nellie Williamson. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends including special nieces, Alana (Tim) Walters, and Linda Melton, and special great-nieces, Beth Day and Belinda Melton (Bob) Wilson who considered "Eva" to be her other mother.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 11, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at the Heritage Memorial Church with Revs. Joe Duvall and Joy Stanforth officiating with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
