LOUIS DANIEL MILLER, age 89, of Washington CH, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
He was born on May 26, 1935 in Beavercreek, Ohio to the late Chester D. and Thelma E. (Turner) Miller. He was a 1953 graduate of Bryan High School in Yellow Springs. Louis worked as a mine supervisor for several different stone quarries in the area; he retired from CEMEX located in Fairborn, Ohio. He attended the Sedalia Church of Christ in Christian Union when his health would allow. He enjoyed working and always found something to keep himself busy; his grandchildren were his pride and joy; he also had a love for horses.
In addition to his parents, Louis was preceded in death by his beloved son, Danny Chalmer Miller, and siblings, Martha Wolfe, Don Miller, Tom Miller, and Chester Miller.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Shelva Dean (Bolles) Miller, whom he married on June 4, 1955; his sons, Terry Douglas (Toni) Miller, Kenneth Ray (Ann) Miller, and Kevin Dean (Cathy) Miller; grandchildren, Jill (Chad) Lakey, Joshua Miller, Shawna (Josh) Chace, Derek Miller, Christopher (Kasia) Miller, Danny Miller, Angie Rigsby, Dale Hensley, and Cody (Renee) Orman; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Ethan, Isabella, Hunter, Adam, Lilly, Elizabeth, Joseph, Julia, Bradley, Tatem, Tucker, Makayla, Caiawynn, Jaken, Jaylen, and Camden; great-great-grandchildren, Mya, Elby, Dahlia, Sophie, and Lilly; and siblings, Ted (Karen) Miller, Fred (Juanita) Miller, and Gene Miller. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Rev. Gordon Ell officiating with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
