Obituary

LOUISA MAE "WEEGIE" DUFFY, age 86, of Washington CH, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2015 at 7:11 p.m. at the Fayette County Memorial Hospital. She was born on June 29, 1929 in Wilmington, Ohio to Silas and Ruth Freeland Burden. She was the owner/operator of the Weegie's Town Tavern for many years. She was a member of the VFW Post #3762 Ladies Auxiliary. She was passionate about her family, enjoyed her flowers and gardening, traveling, visiting casinos and cooking. Louisa was preceded in death by her parents, her grandmother Flora Conger Burden who helped to raise her, her husband Richard E. Duffy and half-sister Martha Jean Freeland. Survivors include her children Joyce (and the late Rick) Mears, Dale (Karen) Everhart all of Washington CH, Jeannette (Randy) Stillings of Wadsworth, Cheryl Everhart of Michigan, and Vicki (Mark) Underwood of Washington CH; grandchildren Heather, Steve, Amy, Brandi, Randa, Lance, Aaron, Amanda, Amber and Kirby; 27 great-grandchildren as well as her special friend, Carol Morrison. She is also survived by her beloved pet, "Kitty". The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Unity Fellowship Church, 4405 Prairie Rd. NW of Washington CH, with Pastor Keith Clary officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 3-7 p.m. and again on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Fayette County Humane Society or the charity of your choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the Summers Funeral Home.
