LUCINDA LUCILLE "CINDY" HARPER, age 87, of Washington CH, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, January 20, 2025 at Cedarvale Commons Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

She was born on December 30, 1937 in Fayette County to the late Albert and Bernice (Redding) Sockman. Cindy was a homemaker and a babysitter to many children over the years. She was a faithful member at the Washington House of Prayer. She enjoyed going to Church, going out to eat, shopping, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Cindy was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, Jerry Alan Harper, whom she married on July 11, 1959; grandsons, Jerry Lee Harper, Jr., and Derrick Massie; and several siblings.

Survivors include her children, Jerry Lee (Bobbie Helgeson) Harper, Barbara (Larry) Massie, Sharon (Don) Harris, and Lonnie (Michelle) Harper; grandchildren, Shane (Crystal) Harper, Cody (Sadie) Harper, Lynze Harper, and McKenzie Creek; great-grandchildren, Lucy Harper, Penelope Harper, GiGi Jackson, and Ozzy Harper; and siblings, Jeanann (Robert) Hall, Ronnie Sockman, Jack (Shirley) Sockman, Terry Sockman, and Sue Graham. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

The family would also like to extend a special thank you to nurse Brenda Eggleton at Cedarvale Commons. She was so sweet and kind to our mother and our family during this difficult time.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Butcher officiating with burial to follow at the Pleasant Cemetery in Mount Sterling. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5-7:00 p.m.
