MARCIA LYNN BAIRD, age 85, of Washington CH, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at her home.
She was born on May 22, 1937, in Fayette County to the late William and Elizabeth (Hartley) Fletcher. She was a graduate of Washington High School and a 1958 graduate of Mount Carmel School of Nursing. Marcia worked for a few years with Dr. Joseph Herbert before started her nursing career at Fayette County Memorial Hospital where she worked in Labor and Delivery until her retirement. Marcia was a faithful member at the Good Hope United Methodist Church and was involved in the Good Hope United Methodist Women's Group. She enjoyed knitting and being involved in any activities her grandchildren participated in.
In addition to her parents, Marcia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Wayne Baird, whom she married on September 14, 1958.
Survivors include her children, Cindy (Tark) Chester, Sharon Johnston, Julie (Brad) Reisinger, and David (Teresa) Baird; grandchildren, Courtney (Tyler) Wilt, Jared (Jennifer) Chester, Katelyn (Joel) Slyman, Austin (Marissa) Chester, Heather Johnston, Kyla Johnston, Kristin (Alex) Marting, Hanna Reisinger, Isaiah Reisinger, Cassie Baird, and Bryce Baird; great-grandchildren, Corbyn, Alexia, and Hadley Wilt, Kasyn and Maci Chester, Paxton Marting, Ella Jo Chester, and Baby Slyman arriving in 2023; brother, Jim (Karen) Fletcher of Boulder, Colorado; and nieces, JJ Beatty, and Christy Lopez.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Good Hope United Methodist Church, 4014 Main St. SE, Washington CH, OH 43160, with Pastor John Silveous officiating with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the church on Thursday evening from 4-7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Good Hope United Methodist Women's Group, 4014 Main St. SE, Washington CH, OH or to Ohio's Hospice of Fayette County, 222 N. Oakland Ave., Washington CH, OH 43160.
