MARGARET ANN (KNISLEY) ELZEY, age 84, of Washington CH, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at the Adena Fayette Medical Center.

She was born on March 26, 1942 in South Solon, Ohio to the late William Ervin and Cena Olive (Younker) Knisley. Margaret was one of twelve children. She retired in 2002 after twenty-seven years of service from Fayette County Memorial Hospital where she had worked in housekeeping and dietary. She enjoyed drinking coffee, gardening, spending time with her family and grandchildren, and she loved her dog, Scarlett.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Barth H. Elzey, whom she married on August 31, 1957; her daughter, Sheryl “Sherry” Brown; along with several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her sons, Barth (Carmal) Elzey, Gregg (Michelle) Elzey, and Randall (Kathy) Elzey; grandchildren, Nick Elzey, Danny Elzey, Doug Elzey, Gregg Elzey, Jr., Josh Elzey, and Kayce (Elzey) Taylor; numerous great-grandchildren; and several brothers and sisters. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Danny Dodds officiating with burial to follow at the Sabina Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
