MARGARET JOAN MOATS, age 77, of Washington CH, passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at 3:41 a.m. at the Adena Greenfield Medical Center. She was born on December 22, 1936 in Fayette County to Reuben Sr. and Sarah Finney Merriman. She was a 1955 Madison Mills High School graduate. She had worked at Mac Tool for 22 years and Ferno-Washington for 4 years. She was a life member of VFW Burnett-Ducey #4964 where she had served as President. She had been an active bowler and was the secretary of several leagues. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Richard Clickner Sr., second husband Herman Payton and third husband, Orville Moats, stillborn daughter Sarah, son Richard Clickner Jr., siblings Virginia Butler, Reuben Merriman Jr., Richard Merriman and Carol Shirkey. Survivors include her children Wanda Jaeckels, Henry Clickner and fiancé and Tammy Hughes; step-children Charlotte Hake, Eleanor Vernon and Marlene Johnson; 4 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Danny Dodds officiating with burial to follow at the Milledgeville-Plymouth Cemetery.
