MARIE A. CARPENTER, age 70, of Washington CH, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at 1:40 p.m. at the London Health and Rehabilitation Center where she had been a resident since February.

She was born on February 5, 1952 in Madison County to the late William Louis and Gertrude (Lloyd) Carpenter. Marie had worked as a nursing assistant and at the TA Travel Center Route 35 in Jeffersonville. She enjoyed sitting on her porch, going to Deer Creek, fishing, and was a Garfield fanatic.

In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Alma Lee Leaman and granddaughter, Janiya McLavin.

Survivors include her significant other of 50 years, Albert D. Dillon; her children, Tammy Smith, John Carpenter, Hillary Dillon, and William Dillon; grandchildren, Bladeth, Alandria, Kendra, William, McKenzie, Khloe, Majaela, Jalesi'a, Janaya, J'Vion, Ja'deja, and Jai'lei; great-grandchildren, Sylus, Julius, and Raiden; brother, Bill Carpenter; and sister-in-law, Deborah Dillon.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no services.
