MARILYN MATILDA "TILLY" BRYAN, age 77, of Washington Court House, passed away at 11:03 a.m. on Monday, December 19, 2022 at Adena Fayette. She was born in Fayette County on September 12, 1945 to the late Merrill and Zelma (Penwell) Butcher, Sr.

Tilly had worked at Spectrum Analytic in Washington Court House. She liked cooking and baking, making candy and going to yard sales. Tilly especially enjoyed sewing, making special personalized towels for her family and friends from the fabrics she would get on her special road trips with her sister to Jo-Ann Fabrics. In the past, Tilly sung at church and played the accordion.

Survivors include her son and daughter in-law; Doug (Michelle) Bryan, her grandchildren; Mindy Bryan and Aaron (Jody) Bryan and great-grandchildren; Stephany, Suzanne, Shawn and Silas Matheny. Other survivors include; her sisters; Nellie Hurley of Michigan and Jeannie Butcher Cornell (Lonnie) of Washington Court House and brothers; Merrill (Meda) Butcher, Jr. of Washington Court House, John (Syble) Butcher of Illinois and several nieces, nephews, cousins and special lifelong friend; Sandy Wehner.

In addition to her parents, Tilly was preceded in death by her husband; Dennis Douglas Bryan II, brothers; Gerald and Bill Butcher, sister; Poll Ann; and Baby Butcher. Also preceding her in death is one special brother-in-law; Robert Hurley.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 23, 2022 at the Summers Funeral Home with Tom Butcher Officiating. In keeping with Tilly's wishes cremation will follow after the service. Friends can visit with the family on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
