MARITA F. "RITA" TURLEY, age 68, of Chillicothe, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at 11:46 p.m. at her home while surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on May 21, 1954, in Greenup, Kentucky to the late Virgil E. and Nora B. (Sexton) Watkins. She attended Teays Valley High School and later obtained her GED. Rita was a stay-at-home wife and mother to her two children. She enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, sewing, quilting, laughing, and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Donald "Butch" Turley; brother, Ray Watkins; brother-in-law, Phillip Sockman; and sister-in-law, Rebecca Watkins.

Survivors include her significant other of eleven years, Nicholas C. Elder; her children, Donald Lee (Brandi) Turley, and Rebecca Dawn Kuper; grandchildren, Donald Lee Jr. (Lauren) Turley, Sara Fay (Ryan) Speakman, Nicholle Sue Turley, Haley Alexandria (Derek) Hinkle, Linzy Garnet Turley, and Katelyn Renee Kuper; great-grandchildren, Adilynn Grace, Kai Michael, Gabriel Ryan, Laikynn Kay Nicole, and Baby Boy Speakman arriving soon; and siblings, Ralph (Marilyn) Watkins, Everett (Sherry) Watkins, Hazel Jane Sockman, Ivy (Gary) Coy, Ellis Watkins, Bonnie (Don) Miller, and Elmer (Carolyn) Watkins. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Sizemore officiating with burial to follow at the Bloomingburg Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
