MARLENE M. LUDWICK, age 61, of Washington CH, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 4:30 p.m. at the Grant Medical Center.
She was born on April 30, 1953 in Xenia, Ohio to Everett and Hattie Sears Smith. She had worked at Bundy TI and YUSA and had attended the South Side Church of Christ. She was the owner of the Misfit Craft Shop. She enjoyed cooking, crafts and loved helping others. She had a servant's heart. She had been attending Southern State Community College where she was working on her Accounting Certificate.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Everett Smith Jr., half-brother Bruce Smith and Aunt Nellie Sears, who helped to raise her.
Survivors include her husband, Jeff Ludwick, whom she married on November 15, 2004; daughter Tonya (Chad) Kimball; step-son Jason (Tracy) Ludwick; grandchildren Levi and Wyatt; brother and sister-in-law Garry (Lisa) Ludwick, Uncle Albert Sears; half-sister Robin Conger; special cousin Connie Sears Jamison who was like a sister to her; special friend Catina as well as a host of friends. She is also survived by her beloved canine companions, Sadie and Bear. On Palm Sunday, Marlene gave the gift of life to three grateful recipients who received her body organs.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the South Side Church of Christ with Danny Dodds officiating with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.
