MARTHA C. CARPENTER, age 98, of Jeffersonville, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021 at 8:39 a.m. at her home.

She was born on July 18, 1923 in Fayette County to William and Sarah (Wisecup) Webb. Martha was a highly skilled seamstress and worked for Sunshine Laundry & Dry Cleaning for several years. She attended the Agape Church on the Move in Washington CH. Martha was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She enjoyed roller skating in her younger years, line dancing, and spending time with her beloved family.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles J. Carpenter; granddaughter, Michelle L. Massie Johnson; and five siblings.

Survivors include her children, Betty (Darryl) Nooks, Robert (Maria) Hawkins, and Vernon (Sylvia) Hawkins; grandchildren, Lucinda J. "Cindy" Anderson, Patrick W. "Rick" (Lisa) Massie, Robert O. Hawkins, Jr., Shawn O. Hawkins, April D. Hawkins Walker, Albert O. "Owen" Hawkins, and Martha Elaine "Marie" Hawkins; twenty-two great-grandchildren and twelve great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Agape Church on the Move, 547 Hickory Lane, Washington CH, OH 43160, with Pastor David Evans officiating.
