MARTHA LOU "MARTY" COPELAND, age 79, of Washington CH, passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at her home. She was born on August 12, 1936 in Fayette County to Roy and Helen Yahn. She was a 1954 graduate of Washington High School. She had worked in the office of Dr. Robert Anderson for many years. She was a faithful member of the South Side Church of Christ and the Loyal Disciple Sunday School class. She volunteered her time to the American Red Cross blood bank. Marty was an avid reader, she loved cooking and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Marty was preceded in death by her parents, her mother and father in-law Ira and Mildred Copeland and one brother, Don Yahn. Survivors include her husband, William "Bill" Copeland, whom she married on July 31, 1954; her children Vicki (Mike) Clay and Joni (Jim) McLean; grandchildren Tony (Karen) Clay, Kacy (David) Morris and Jason (Dawn) McLean; great-grandchildren Braeden and Chase Morris, Allison and Matthew Clay and Emma and Colton McLean; brothers Charles (Marilyn) Yahn, Dan (Chris) Yahn, Steve (Cindy) Yahn; sister-in-law Sib Yahn; and sister Becky (Brad) Noble as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends, including special friends, Charles "Buck" and Cindy Harris. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the South Side Church of Christ, 921 S. Fayette St. in Washington CH, with Danny Dodds officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery.
