MARTHA ANN WELSH, age 88, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 7, 2026 at Court House Manor, where she had resided since 2023.

She was born on September 21, 1937 in Fayette County to the late Ernest and Dorothy (VanDyke) McAllister. She was a graduate of Bloomingburg High School.

Martha was a homemaker but also held various jobs throughout her life including owning her own greenhouse and selling real estate. She attended the Sugar Creek Baptist Church for most of her adult life and then attended the Grace Community Church where she was very active in serving on the food ministry team until her health would no longer allow. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking, singing, visiting with her friends, spending time with her family, and she also had a love for horses.

In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Billie Dean Welsh, whom she married on March 1, 1955; her grandchildren, Eric Welsh, and Laralyn LeBeau; and brother, Wayne McAllister.

Survivors include her children, Randy (Kim) Welsh, and Tami (Joe) Dawson; grandchildren, Amy (Tony) LeBeau, Shelley (Josh) Denney, AJ (Rachelle) Dawson, Tyler (Catherine) Johnston, Jill (Eric) Byers, and Amy Beadle; granddaughter-in-law, Franci Welsh; great-grandchildren, Riston, Jasen, Carter, Gabe, Abby, Claire, Luke, Eli, Leighton, Lola, and Kamberlynn; brother, Mike (Vicki) McAllister; and special cousins, Sandy Self and Debbie Davis. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, and a host of dear and special friends.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at the Sugar Creek Baptist Church, 3263 St Rt 35 NW, Washington CH, OH 43160, with Pastor Mike Henry officiating. Family and friends may visit at the church on Saturday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. In keeping with her wishes, cremation will follow and burial will take place at the Highlawn Cemetery at a later date.
