MARTIN R. "MIKE" EICHSTETTER, age 77, of Washington CH, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 12:05 a.m. at St. Catherine's Manor.
He was born on September 27, 1939 in Germany, to Martin and Franjeska Eichstetter. He had worked as a taxi driver in New York City for many years, also Hartley Oil, Showa, and had also been a shuttle driver for Doug Marine Motors. Mike was a member of the St. Coleman of Cloyne Catholic Church and the Elks Post 129. He thoroughly enjoyed playing and watching golf, he had traveled to Nevada and Arizona for golf outings. He was an all around sports fanatic, and enjoyed the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Pittsburg Steelers.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters; Marie Franjeska Lundstedt and Anna "Sonja" Steinmann, and nephew, Frank Steinmann.
Survivors include his sister, Ruth Brennaman; nieces, Linda Miceli and Patty Harding; nephews, Robert and Jimmy McIntosh, as well as his "Ohio" family, Mary Lou Haines, Bob (Sharon) Prater, and Gary (Bonnie) Christman.
The viewing will be held on Monday, January 23, 2017 from 4-6:00 p.m. at Summers Funeral Home. There will be no service and burial will be held at the St. Coleman Catholic Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
