Obituary

MARVIN E. 'COOKIE' COOK, age 77, of Washington CH, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 9:12 p.m. at the Court House Manor Nursing Home. He was born on June 1, 1936 in Greenfield to Henton and Helen Steiner Cook. He had worked as the Parts Manager at Gusweilers and also had worked part-time at the Elks Lodge. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during peace time. He was a 1954 Washington High School graduate and also attended the Ohio University. He was a life member of the Elks Lodge #129 and Fayettle Lodge #107 F&AM. He also enjoyed golfing, reading and watching wrestling. Cookie was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Wesley Cook and sister Saundra Lee Bowling. Survivors include his nieces and nephews Angela Cook, Brenda (Rick) Snyder, Gail Cook, Krista Cook, Sherry (Brad) Rohrer, Brian (Julie) Bowling and Leslyn (Robert) Barrone; sister-in-law Grace Cook; brother-in-law David Bowling as well as several great-nieces and nephews and a host of friends. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Todd Maurer officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Military rites will be accorded by the Fayette County Honor Guard at 6:00 with an Elks service and Masonic service will follow.
