MARVIN RUSSELL SEYMORE , aged 86, of Washington Court House, passed away at 5:15 a.m. on Monday, April 28, 2025, at Carriage Court Assisted Living in Washington C.H. Born on August 11, 1938, in Pike County, he was the son of the late John and Ethel Rittenhouse Seymore. On October 12, 1963, he married the former Katherine E. Hackett who preceded him in death on August 5, 2022.
Marvin first attended school in Pike County, and after moving to Fayette County he attended school at both Madison Mills and Bloomingburg High School, graduating in 1962. He bravely served in the United States Air Force, where he was stationed at McConnell Air Force Base and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal in 1959. Following his service to his country, Marvin returned to Fayette County where he worked as a Water and Sewer Operator in both Jeffersonville and Bloomingburg until his retirement. Marvin was a member of the St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church and the Son's of Union Veterans of The Civil War. He enjoyed traveling the United States with his late wife Katherine in their motorhome.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to both the Carriage Court of Washington Court House and Heartland Hospice for the excellent care given to Marvin while in their care.
Survivors include his brother, Edwin Seymore; his nephew, Richard Seymore and his niece, Jennifer Hoover. Also surviving is his sister-in-law, Mary Ann Klein, along with several great-nieces, great-nephews and a host of friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2025, in the St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. C.M. Haddad celebrating, burial to follow in the St. Colman Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by the Fayette County Honor Guard. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday evening, May 1, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
