MARY VIOLET ESTES, age 86, of Washington CH, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 2:11 a.m. at Signature Healthcare of Fayette County.

She was born on February 19, 1934 in Martin County, Kentucky to Joseph and Dixie (Muncy) Johnson. Mary worked as a pre-school teacher at the Children's Academy in Columbus for many years. After retirement, Mary spent her free time babysitting for many children. She was a faithful member at the Heritage Memorial Church. Mary was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dear friend to many. She enjoyed traveling the world, listening to the sweet sound of southern gospel music, cooking, entertaining, and being with her family and grandchildren.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Lloyd Estes; siblings, Thomas Johnson, William "Bill" Johnson, LeRoy Johnson, and Betty Runyon; and son-in-law, Jim Bowman.

Survivors include her children, Dr. Connie Bowman, Peggy and Rev. Joseph Duvall, and Dr. Dianna and Dr. Roger Miller; grandchildren, Rev. Aaron and Chera Duvall, Heather Jo Duvall, Andrew and Lil Miller, Stephen and Siobhan Miller, and Leo and Patricia Guerra; great-grandchildren, Harper Duvall, Torin Miller, Gabriella Guerra, and Jacob Guerra. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Heritage Memorial Church, 1867 US Highway 35 NW, Washington CH, OH 43160, with Rev. Aaron Duvall officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the church on Tuesday evening from 5-7:00 p.m.

Those in attendance must wear a mask or other facial covering and are asked to adhere to social-distancing guidelines.
