MARY ELIZABETH HURTT, age 85, of Washington CH, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2014 at 12:57 p.m. at the Court House Manor Nursing Home. She was born on March 26, 1929 in Ross County to Herbert and Delcia Sheese Dawes. She had worked at JC Penneys, Craigs and the Dress Barn. She had been involved with the Fayette County Commission on Aging, the Delaware Street Senior Citizens, past member of the BPW, was a member of the Washington Garden Club and had been an avid bowler. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Orville "Jack" Hurtt, son James Ross Hurtt, sister Helen Carson and brother Robert Dawes Sr. Survivors include her grandson, Chris and his wife Allison Hurtt; great-grandchildren Brice, Ryan, Chase and Evan Hurtt; step-grandchildren Isaac, Keeley and Isabell Allen; sister-in-law Carole Dawes, nieces and nephews as well as her dearest and special friends, Shelli Seymour, Libby Fields and Lana Durflinger. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor John Pfeifer officiating and burial will follow at the Washington Cemetery.
