MARY MARGARET (MINSHALL) ROWLAND, age 74, of New Holland, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at Mount Carmel Grove City with her loving husband by her side.
She was born on December 29, 1950 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Herbert W. and Marjorie V. (Mace) Minshall. Mary was a 1968 graduate of Miami Trace High School, a 1971 graduate of Community Hospital School of Nursing in Springfield, Ohio, and a 2003 graduate of Saint Joseph's College of Maine in Standish, Maine where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Administration and a Certificate of Long Term Care Administration.
Survivors include her husband, John W. Rowland, whom she married on November 14, 1971; her sons, Chad H. (Haylee) Rowland of Washington CH, and Bradley H. (Ashley) Rowland of Frankfort, Ohio; grandchildren, Gage Lee, Landon Herbert, Jasmine Mary, Adalynn Nicole, Adrian John, Avery Jane, and Anna Jo; sister, Linda Kay (Steve) Flack of Gatlinburg, Tennessee; half-brother, Larry (Marilyn) Martin of Lancaster, Ohio; sister-in-law, Patsy Martin of Lancaster, Ohio; and special friend, Rusty Steehler. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her half-siblings, Rita Welker, Carolyn Edstrom, and Ferd Martin.
Mary was a Registered Nurse who served in many capacities at Fayette County Memorial Hospital from which she retired in 2005. She had also worked at Berger Hospital, Mercy Hospital Clinic, Scioto Paint Valley Mental Heath Center and taught at Scott Vocational Institute.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Sarah Flack officiating with burial to follow at the New Holland Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the charity of your choice.
