Mary Geneva Stewart, age 80, of Washington CH, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at 12:13 a.m. at the Mt. Carmel Medical Center. She was born on September 28, 1936 in Ross County to Edgar and Bernice Ater Everhart. She was a graduate of Buckskin High School where she had perfect attendance for all twelve years. She was a member of the Heritage Memorial Church and also the old Greg Street Church for over 53 years. She enjoyed playing instruments especially the piano, going to the quartet convention, listening to country music and visiting local nursing homes. She was proceded in death by her parents and brother Howard Everhart. Survivors include her husband, John J. Stewart whom she married on December 7, 1962; her son Johnny M. Stewart and his wife, Brandy; siblings Frank Everhart and Frances (Steve) Sokola. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Heritage Memorial Church, 1867 US Rt. 35 NW, with Pastor Bruce Morrison and Rev. Joe Duvall officiating with burial to follow at the New Holland Cemetery.
