MAUDE M. HIDY, age 87, of Washington CH, passed away on Monday, February 29, 2016 at 9:11 a.m. at the Court House Manor Nursing Home. She was born on February 9, 1929 in Elliott County, Kentucky to Frank and Missouri Dickerson Harper. She was a graduate of Madison Mills School and had worked at Cudahys Packing where she met her husband, the love of her life. Both she and her husband, Alfred, have cared for several foster children along with their own children. She had been a member of the former First Christian Church now known as Crossroads where she had taught Sunday School and also served as Deaconess. She greatly enjoyed her friendships with her neighbors and friends. Maude was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Missouri Harper, her step-mother Clara Harper; her husband, Alfred Hidy, sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Loren Sheridan and brother James Harper. Survivors include her children, Rhonda (Gene) Pfaff and Barry (Claudia) Hidy; grandchildren Justin (Sarah) Hidy, Lacey (Brock) West, Brett (Paige) Hidy, Shawn (Christopher) Hollingsworth, Michael (Shelly) Pfaff, and Gregory (Rebecca) Pfaff; great-grandchildren Catlyn and Corey Pfaff, Nathan, Elizabeth, and Catherine Hollingsworth, Tayler Mitchell, Jaden Hidy, Skyla and Eli Pfaff, Ronin Hidy, Emery West and a host of family and friends. The funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2016 at the Summers Funeral Home with Steve Henderson officiating with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemetery.
