MICHAEL DEAN LEISURE, age 63, of Washington CH, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 5, 2026 at his home while surrounded by his family.
He was born on June 19, 1962 in Fayette County to the late Darrell Eugene and Helen Evelyn (Bondurant) Leisure. He attended Miami Trace High School. Michael worked as a professional painter for most of his life, he did residential and commercial painting. He was delighted when he could make someone laugh, he enjoyed making his famous Chef Boyardee Pizza, spending time with his family and grandchildren, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.
In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his siblings, Gary Leisure, and Leora Johnson; sister-in-law, Sarah Leisure; brothers-in-law, Danny Alspaugh, and Michael Davis; and nephew, Mike (Buddy) Davis.
Survivors include his children, Lisa (Josh) Bruce, Michael Dean "Mikey" Leisure, II, Kyle (Stephanie) Leisure, Tifani Leisure and her fiancé, Jason Rose, and Ashley (Blade) Moore; grandchildren, Patience, Caleb, Josalynn, Chase, and Paisley Bruce, Brooklyn (Greg) Cox, Drew Thomas, Kyler, Kyren, and Kyrstence Leisure, Madelyn Queen, Alexander Rose, and Emma, Pearson, and Asher Moore; great-grandson, Kai Cox; siblings, Sue Templin, Jeannie Alspaugh, and Darrell Leisure, Jr.; sister-in-law, Jeanie Leisure; and his beloved canine companion, Champ. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, along with a host of friends.
Near the end, Michael surrendered his life to the Lord and chose Heaven as his eternal home with his heavenly Father.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at the Highlawn Cemetery with Danny Dodds officiating.
