August 12, 1938 – August 15, 2023
MYRTLE FRANCES TROUTE, age 85, of Washington Court House, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Court House Manor. She was born on August 12, 1938 in Crum, West Virginia to the late Garland and Erma Damron Corns. On June 3, 1956, she married her husband, Sam Troute who preceded her in death in 2009.
Myrtle had worked as a custodian for many years at Rose Avenue School and before that she had been a Bus Driver for Washington Court House City Schools. Myrtle enjoyed cooking and baking cakes; even baking the beautiful cakes at both of her sons' weddings. She also enjoyed playing board games, Yahtzee and Dominoes. Myrtle was a member of the Route 38 Church of Christ, where she was loved by the Church and all of her friends. Myrtle will be missed by everyone that knew her.
Survivors include her sons, Jerry (Deborah) Troute and Steve (Sheila) Troute; her grandchildren, Melissa (JR Lemaster), Kevin (Jessica Hughes) Troute and Alaina (James) Garrett; her great-grandchildren, Tanner, Hailey and Bentley LeMaster and Austyn Troute. Also surviving is her sister, Pansy Troute and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
In addition to her parents and loving husband, Myrtle was preceded in death by her brothers, Kenny and Max Corns, Aster and Ance Thomas who died at infancy and her bother in-law, John Troute.
The funeral will be held on Friday, August 18, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Route 38 Church of Christ with Pastor Mark Guy officiating with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the church on Friday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Ohio's Hospice of Fayette County and Court House Manor for the care and support they provided for Myrtle and their family.
