NELLIE A. (SCHY) BREWINGTON, age 86, of Jeffersonville, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 1:40 p.m. at Mount Carmel Medical Center. She was born on March 26, 1928 in Racine, Wisconsin to Robert and Lucille Smith Kreps. She had worked at Fayette County Memorial Hospital as an X-Ray Technician for several years. Nellie was a 1946 graduate of Stivers High School in Dayton, Ohio. Nellie had a passion for cooking, spending time with her grandchildren, and enjoyed debating politics. Nellie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lloyd Brewington, her son, Rodney Schy and her brother, George Reno. Survivors include her daughter Vera and her husband Ronald Rogers; her grandson, Mark and his wife Kim Rogers, and two great-grandchildren, Madison and Isaac; sisters Glenna (Paul) Rogers and Margaret (Tony) Shawan. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Danny Dodds officiating. Burial will follow at a later date at the convenience of the family at the Koontz Cemetery.
