Obituary

Norma "Jean" Curtin, 81, of Washington CH, went to sleep in Jesus on April 25, 2014, at her home. She was born January 5, 1933 in Wood County, West Virginia, to the late Samuel Porter and Anna Laura (King) Braniff. She was formerly employed by Orient State Institute, as well as providing private care to those in special need. She was a member of the Wilmington Seventh-day Adventist Church. Mrs. Curtin is survived by her daughters, Teresa Cooper (Joe), Eileen Johnson (Larry), and Kathleen Nichols; sisters Pauline Syruws (Sam), Carolyn Thornton, Sue Burnem, brothers James Braniff (Linda) and Gary Braniff (Sue) as well as nieces, nephews, and special grandchildren Shira Beedy, Jacob Curtin, and David Morris, and many others. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Curtin was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Nichols, by her second husband, Charles Curtin, her son Charles Michael "Nick" Nichols Jr., sisters Mary Evelyn Braniff and Marie Depue, brothers Samuel Braniff Jr., Thomas Braniff, Paul Braniff, Larry Braniff, and Charles Braniff. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Roy Lawinsky officiating with burial to follow at the Bloomingburg Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12-2 p.m. Memorial contributions are suggested for the Wilmington Seventh-day Adventist Church or Hospice of Fayette County.
