NORMAN VAUGHN BROUN, age 59, of Washington CH, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at Kindred Hospital in Dayton.
He was born on May 31, 1965 in El Paso, Texas to the late James and Norma (Steadman) Broun. Norman attended high school and later obtained his GED. He was a twenty-five-year employee at Fiber-Tech Industries in Washington CH where he worked as a heavy machinist operator. Norman was raised in Houston, Texas and was relocated to Ohio for his job. He enjoyed the great outdoors; hunting, fishing, hiking, camping; his favorite sports teams included the Houston Astros, Houston Texans, Cincinnati Reds, and The Ohio State Buckeyes; but most importantly, he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Norman was preceded in death by his in-laws, Lee and Donna Cummins.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Paula Ilene (Cummins) Broun, whom he married on October 26, 1996; his sons, Josh (Kimber) Lindsey, and Noah (Noah Silverman) Broun; grandchildren, Sawyer Lindsey, Isla Lindsey, and Poppy Vaughn Lindsey; siblings, Jimmy (Lisa) Broun, Laurie (Steve) Bowen, and Kenny Broun; sisters-in-law, Ellen Barrett, Rita Bondurant, and Janie Powell. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Kathy Yoakum officiating. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday evening from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service.
The family is requesting that all attendees wear their favorite sports merch in honor of Norman's love for sports.
