O.D. MCCRARY, age 84, of Washington CH, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Mount Carmel St. Ann's in Westerville, Ohio after a brief illness.

He was born on October 29, 1939 in Reform, Alabama to the late Collie W. and Luella (Hughes) McCrary. O.D. attended Chillicothe High School. In 1963, he was drafted into the US Army and served two years in Germany before receiving an honorable discharge. In 1967, O.D. and his late wife, Doris, moved to Washington CH and continued his work as a highly skilled cement mason. He and his wife raised a successful family with love, honor, integrity, and Godly morals. He is still known for his work in Ohio and surrounding states. Through hard work and dedication, he continues to make life wonderful for his family. O.D. was also a faithful and active member at The Second Baptist Church in Washington CH.

In addition to his parents, O.D. was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife, Doris Elizabeth (Thomas) McCrary; and siblings, Beulah Moore, Doy McCrary, and Lillie Smith.

Survivors include his children, LeValle (Mary) McCrary of Washington CH, Shannon (Tanya) McCrary of Yelm, Washington, Otis McCrary of Columbus, Delmar (Rossana) McCrary of Columbus, and Celeste (Oscar) Aleman of Columbus; grandchildren, Jamrin McCrary, Jamisah McCrary, Shadaisha McCrary, Mina Siatuu, John Ferguson, and Jennifer Simms; and siblings, Elsie Peterson, and Carl W. (Louise) McCrary. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
