Obituary

OPAL L. FRIDLEY, age 91, of Washington CH, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2014 at 11:55 a.m. at her daughter's home. She was born on April 16, 1923 in Fayette County to George and Cora Truitt Grim. She had worked at the shoe factory, the Fayette County Children's Home and WillowWood. She was a member of the South Side Church of Christ where she had been baptized. She loved playing Bingo, enjoyed square dancing, cooking and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Opal was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Don Fridley, former husbands Elmer Massey and Robert Longberry, daughter Connie Bellar, three grandsons, three step-sons, five brothers and four sisters. Survivors include her children David (Sally) Massie, Albert (Judi) Longberry, Raymond Longberry, Robert Longberry, Linda Bennett and Cathy Coy; step-children Faith Cockerell, Priscilla Miller and Marcella Fridley; 18 grandchildren and several great and great-great-grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. The family wanted to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Fayette County and Amity Home Health Nurses, Tessa Yahn and Connie Arledge. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Keith Clary officiating with burial to follow at the Bloomingburg Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Fayette County, 222 N. Oakland Ave., Washington CH, OH 43160.
