ORPHA MAE LUCAS, age 82, of Mt. Sterling, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 3:30 p.m. at the St. Catherine's Manor. She was born on January 18, 1932 in London, Ohio to Joseph and Sarah Sanders Carpenter. She had worked as a caregiver for more than 12 years. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Mt. Sterling and loved spending time with her family. Orpha was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Cathy Terrell, three brothers and four sisters. Survivors include her children Carol (Dale) Hall of West Chester, Ricky (Debbie) Lucas and Randy (Sue) Lucas all of Mt. Sterling; grandchildren Tracy North, Ryan Terrell, Amy Rife, Jon Lucas and Ross Terrell; 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene, 226 N. Market St. in Mt. Sterling, with Dortha Ross officiating with burial to follow at the Pleasant Cemetery.
