PHILLIP "BUDDY" A. SOCKMAN, age 67, of Mt. Sterling, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Catherine's Manor. He was born on September 16, 1946 in Fayette County to Albert and Bernice Redding Sockman. He retired from Ohio Willow Wood. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Buddy was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Theodore Sockman, Wanda Sockman, Robert "Bobby" Sockman and Melvin "Sonny" Sockman. Survivors include his wife Jane Watkins Sockman, whom he married on March 25, 1970; his daughter and her husband Michelle "Shelley" and John Fuller; grandchildren Noah and Hannah Fuller, foster grandchild Sonya White, foster great-grandchild Johnathan White, step-grandchild Lindsay Fuller and step-great-grandchild Chloe Fuller; siblings Jean Ann (Bob) Halll of Springfield, Cindy Harper and Ronald (Karen) Sockman all of Washington CH, Betty Waites of Mt. Sterling, Roger Sockman of Range, Jack (Shirley) Sockman of Mt. Sterling, Sue Graham of Washington CH, Terry (Linda) Sockman of Mt. Sterling as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and a host of friends. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Porter-Tidd Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Holliday officiating with burial to follow at the Pleasant Cemetery.
