Phyllis Jean (Bayes) Craig, age 84, of Hillsboro, formerly of Washington C.H., passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Ohio's Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties. She was born on March 11, 1941, in Floyd County, KY to the late John P. Bayes and Grace Bayes. She was the youngest of their seven daughters.
Phyllis attended Buford High School in Ohio. She lived most of her life in Washington C.H. Phyllis was a homemaker and worked as a caregiver for the elderly before retirement. She loved the Lord and attended Heritage Church for many years. Phyllis was an avid artist who created beautiful paintings. In the early 1980's she was a member of the Leesburg Art Guild. Phyllis also participated in the Fayette County Fair Art Show where she had received many ribbons and placed numerous Best of Show titles. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, baking, and gardening.
In addition to her parents Phyllis was proceeded in death by her siblings, Dorthy Bartlett, Lurla Cochran, Yvonne Conn, Zella Neece, June Fields, and Thelma Puckett.
Survivors include her children, Becky Blade, Daniel Craig and Michael Craig. Grandchildren, Colby Blade, Rachel (Aaron) Britting along with numerous nieces and nephews and close friend, Lori Gentry.
In honoring her request, cremation has taken place. A grave side service officiated by Pastor Joe Duvall will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 11, 2025, in the Sardinia Cemetery, 129 Sardinia-Mowrystown Rd. Sardinia, Ohio 45171
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Phyllis's name be made out and sent to Ohio's Hospice of Butler and Warren County, 5940 Long Meadow Drive, Middletown, Ohio 45005
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Summers Funeral Home in Washington C.H.
