RALPH EUGENE ALTHOUSE, age 95, of Washington CH, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 9:03 p.m. at his home while surrounded by his family.

He was born on March 5, 1927 in Bourneville, Ohio to Samuel and Louise (Rayburn) Althouse. Ralph proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was described by his family as the "jack of all trades." Ralph was born and raised on the farm and had also worked at Pennington Bakery and retired from Mount Carmel West Hospital where he had worked in maintenance. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping, selling pumpkins and spending time with his family.

Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Mary E. (Scott) Althouse; siblings, Adam, Virgil, Sherman, Charles, Robert, Lucille, and Margaret; and son-in-law, David L. Pollard.

Survivors include his children, Larry E. Althouse, Patricia A. Pollard, Roger D. (Patsy) Althouse, Michael L. (Brenda) Althouse, and Faye G. (Garry) Kirk; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and his faithful canine companion, Suzie. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of dear and special friends.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Danny Dodds officiating with burial to follow at the Sugar Creek Baptist Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
