Obituary

RALPH C. 'KIT' BOYD, age 90, of Washington CH, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at 11:55 p.m. at his home. He was born on January 26, 1923 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Carroll and Helen Stell Boyd. He had worked at G.E. in Washington D.C.as an engineer and later also worked at Dravo. He proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a highly decorated officer. He was a member of the Grace Methodist Church, was a past president of the Washington Club and he helped to facilitate the restoration of the Judy Chapel. Kit was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary "Mollie" Boyd and brothers Carroll Jr., Vance, Norman and Robert Boyd. Survivors include his son Carroll, and his wife Dorothy Boyd; grandchildren Jeff Boyd and Katie Boyd and one great-grandchild, Evie Boyd as well as a host of friends. The graveside committal service will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Washington Cemetery with Mell Wickenseimer officiating.
