Obituary

RAY SHILTZ, age 92, of New Holland, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. He was born on January 10, 1922 in Jeffersonville to Charles Cameron and Nora Duncan Shiltz. He proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII. He had worked in construction and also at the Dupont Plant in Circleville for more than 30 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #25 of Washington CH, had served as an auxiliary deputy sheriff in Pickaway County, enjoyed fishing, working in his yard and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Mildred Schrake Shiltz, son Tim Shiltz, brothers Lew, Harold, Willard and Howard Shiltz and sisters Helen Evans and Virginia Lanter. Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Glaze Shiltz, whom he married on March 20, 1984; his daughter Debbie (David) Robinson; grandchildren Jason and Jami Robinson and Joey Shiltz; three great-grandchildren; step-children Terry (Debbie) Glaze, Joe (Paula) Glaze and Rose Glaze; six step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren; siblings Louise (Orville) Stritenberger, Dorothy Dean, Georgia Roush and Carl (Opal) Shiltz as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. The graveside service will be held on Monday, November 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the New Holland Cemetery with Richard Matthews officiating. There will be no viewing. The New Holland Church of Christ will be hosting a luncheon after the service. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Fayette County, 222 N. Oakland Ave., Washington CH, OH 43160.
