RAYMOND LEON HECKERT, SR., age 87, of Washington CH, passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at 4:43 p.m. at the Adena Fayette Medical Center.

He was born on November 8, 1934 in Knox County, Ohio to Dana Leon and Dorothy Louise (Stevens) Heckert. He attended Washington High School. Raymond worked for the Kroger Company for 34 years. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars, being with his family and was an avid Ohio State and Cleveland Browns fan.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved son, Raymond L. Heckert, Jr.; step-father, Alfred M. Browne; and sister, Sharon F. Butcher.

Survivors include his sister, Dorothy R. Jordan of Wilmington; daughters, Karen S. (Don Russell) Hart and Beverly A. (Steven) Dailey both of Washington CH; grandchildren, Michelle (Ricky) Taylor, Buckie Ray (Mandy) Caulley of Washington CH, Daniel Lee (Gina) Merritt of Michigan, and S. Aaron (Alicia) Dailey of Hillsboro; great-grandchildren, Brittany (Josh) Beverly, Melissa Lee,  Brodie, Brylie, and Alex Caulley of Washington CH, Wyatt and Ian Merritt of Michigan, Cassen, Katie, Noah, Ava, Ella, and Lillian Dailey all of Hillsboro; great-great-grandchildren, Harper, Carson, and Xavier Beverly and Ryan Rutherford of Washington CH; and special friends, Liz and Steve Gullett, Lindsay Nicole Panio; and nephew, Rob (Andi) Jordan of Wilmington.

The graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the Washington Cemetery with Danny Dodds officiating.
