RAYMOND ROY "RAY" LONG, age 86, of Chillicothe, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at 8:30 p.m. at Westmoreland Place.

He was born on March 28, 1932 in Scioto County to Charles and Lillian Brown Long. He had been employed at Bock Seed Company in Jeffersonville for several years and retired from Jess Gilmore Homes. Ray was a member at the Jeffersonville Church of Christ. He enjoyed watching old westerns, listening to the Cincinnati Reds on the radio, fishing, rabbit hunting with his beagles, yard sale-ing; and his family all agreed that Ray never met a stranger.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Alice Mae Long, whom he married on February 3, 1960; daughter, Rita Pickens; siblings, Ann Kowalski, Violet Brandenburg, Bonnie Kellum, June Long, Charles Long, Lawson Long, and John Long.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Randa Long; grandchildren, Charles Pickens, Tracy Potts, Kristie Smith, Krystal Pickens, Gabriel Minkel, and Lucas Minkel; and his loving canine companions, Frankie and Bugs. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Fairview Cemetery with Danny Dodds officiating.
