REBECCA A. “BECKY” DOWLER, age 76, of Washington Court House, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 12:24 PM, in Cedarvale Commons, with her husband by her side.

Born on June 29, 1950, in Washington Court House, Ohio, Becky was a daughter of Clarence Runnels and June (Wyatt) Runnels. Becky was a graduate of Miami Trace High School. She then went on to attend the former Community Hospital School of Nursing in Springfield before obtaining her BSN from Indiana Wesleyan University. A dedicated registered nurse, Becky spent her career caring for others across many states including: Ohio, Georgia, California, New Mexico, Utah, Oklahoma, Virginia, and Indiana. Becky left a lasting impact on countless patients and colleagues she met along the way.

She was an active and faithful member of the Bloomingburg United Methodist Church, where she found great joy in community and fellowship.

Becky enjoyed spending her quiet hours sewing, crocheting, and completing intricate needlework. Her kitchen was always a warm, welcoming place filled with wonderful meals made with love for family and friends.

Left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband of almost 55 years, Bill Dowler; sons Erik (Dana Shelton) Dowler and Craig (Tiffany) Dowler; grandchildren: Maya Lynn, Andee, Austin, Ian, and Myles Dowler, Alex and Elizabeth Dietz.

She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and June, and her brothers Barry and Tim Runnels.

A Celebration of Becky’s Life will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 2:00 PM, in the Bloomingburg United Methodist Church, 5 Cross St, Bloomingburg, OH 43106, with Pastor Phil Webb officiating. Private interment in Bloomingburg Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Becky’s name may be sent to benefit the Fayette Regional Humane Society, 4 Commercial Ave, Washington Court House, OH 43160.
