RICHARD LAWRENCE BOWEN, age 80, of Washington CH, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 10:45 a.m. at the St. Catherine's Manor.

He was born on October 21, 1934 in Fayette County to Sherman and Caroline Barnes Bowen. He retired from Mac Tool after 23 years of service. He proudly served his country in the US Army. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid bowler.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dorothy Lawhorn Bowen, three brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include his step-son John David Dannaker; three grandchildren; sister Barbara Harvey as well as several nieces and nephews including special niece Debbie (Gib) Yoho.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Davis officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
