RICHARD DALE CHAFFIN, age 73, of Jeffersonville, passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at Adena Fayette Medical Center after a brief stay.

He was born on November 9, 1950 in Fayette County to the late Carroll Preston and Ellen Louise (Cook) Chaffin. He attended Miami Trace High School. He was drafted into the US Army and proudly served his country from 1970-1972. Richard was a highly skilled mechanic, and his last job was in retail at O'Reilly Auto Parts in Washington CH. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gaming, and was an avid Ohio State fan.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his infant son, Jaymie Bryan Chaffin; granddaughter, Morgan Chaffin; and siblings Tina Kinzer, Edith Chaffin, and Tom Chaffin.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Karen Sue (Bennett) Chaffin; son, Ryan Chaffin; grandchildren, Cameron Boysel, and Rylan Chaffin; siblings, Preston Chaffin, and Peggy Hill; brother-in-law, Bob Kinzer; and sisters-in-law, Sandy (Herby) Bennett, and Sharon (Max) Bennett. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no services.
