Obituary

RICHARD LEE HENRY, age 71, of Jeffersonville, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 11:24 a.m. at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, with his daughter by his side.

He was born on January 17, 1951 in Fayette County to the late Burris Walter and Edith Irene (Lowery) Henry. He attended Washington High School. Richard had worked for Ohio Paving & Construction and Bret's Water Hauling. He was a member at the Sugar Creek Baptist Church. Richard was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Bengals and the Cincinnati Reds, old western movies, playing games on the iPad, and was an avid coon hunter.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his siblings, Jim Henry, Joe Henry, Sue Cox, and Gerald Henry.

Survivors include his wife, Vickie J. (Jordan) Henry, whom he married on August 9, 1968, his children, Travis L. Henry, Bret A. Henry, and Bobbi J. Gill; grandchildren, Trevyn S. (Asia) Henry, and Blake J. Gill; great-grandchildren, Haisley, Emma, and Beauden Henry; and sisters-in-law, Melinda Henry, and Patricia Henry. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Henry officiating with burial to follow at the Highlawn Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5-8:00 p.m.
