Obituary

RICHARD M. 'DICK' IMMELL JR., age 77, of Washington C.H., passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at 3:06 p.m. at the Fayette County Memorial Hospital Emergency Room. He was born on October 29, 1938, in Chillicothe to Richard Sr. and Bernice Evans Immell. He was a 1956 graduate of Kingston High School. He retired from Pickaway Correctional Institute and was a well known drywaller. Dick proudly served his country in the US Army Reserves. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church where he served as usher for many years. He was also a member of the Elks #129 and the Buckeye Hills Country Club where he loved playing golf with friends and family. Dick was a past board member of the Commission on Aging, an avid Ohio State football and basketball fan, a member of the "Old Men's" poker club and enjoyed playing pool. He especially loved spending time with his family. Dick was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved pets, Gabby and Mattie. Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Anderson Immell, whom he married on April 23, 1959; his children Kim (Tom) Allen of California, Rick (Erin) Immell, Karen (John) Christopher and Todd (Lea) Immell all of Cincinnati; grandchildren Lauren (Erik) Wulfeck, Thaddeus Allen, Mackenzie (Mitch) Van Thof, Ryane (Dustin) Burk, Tyler and Benjamin Immell, Maddie, Emily and John Zigmond, Andi, Max, Theo and Tucker Christopher, Lainey, Morgan and Truman Immell; great-grandchildren Rocco and Marlo Wulfeck and Harper, Wyatt and Hudson Burke; brother-in-law Jim Anderson of Mentor as well as a host of friends. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at the Grace United Methodist Church with Mick Whistler and Mell Wickenseimer officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 4-8 p.m. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Grace United Methodist Church, 301 E. Market St., Washington CH, OH 43160.
