RICK A. HATFIELD, age 65, of Washington CH, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at the Adena Regional Medical Center. He was born on October 16, 1949 in Greenfield, Ohio to the late Bryon Russell "Russ" and Marjorie Wilson Hatfield. He was a graduate of Miami Trace High School and proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam era. Baseball was a large part of Rick's life. He served as coach and mentor to many youth in Fayette County. Rick is survived by his mother Marjorie Hatfield of Washington CH; brothers Robert (Linda) Hatfield of Ballwin, MO and Byron Russell Hatfield Jr. of Simpsonville, KY. Rick was a dear uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend to many, including special friend and assistant, Barry Coe. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Clary officiating with burial to follow at the Good Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
