"Bob" Myers
June 17, 1944 – February 25, 2025
ROBERT Y. "BOB" MYERS, age 80, of Cedarville, went home to be with His
Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at 9:35 a.m. at his home while
surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on June 17, 1944 in Springfield, Ohio to the late Orlan and L. Mae
(Young) Myers. He was a 1962 graduate of Cedarville High School and proudly
served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. Bob retired
after thirty-two years of service from Vernay Labs in Yellow Springs.
He was a member of the Grace Community Church in South Solon and
had served on the Cedarville Fire Department as a lieutenant for over eighteen years.
Bob enjoyed the great outdoors including gardening, farming, long walks in
nature, and camping. He especially loved spending time with his family and
grandchildren and attending their sporting activities as well as a love for southern
gospel and blue grass music.
Bob is survived by his wife, Rhea Burba Myers, whom he married on July 12,
1968; his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Doug Graham, his beloved
Grandchildren, Cody and Caden Graham and Kyle Deters whom they claimed
as their grandson as well. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law,
Steve and Sandra Myers, brothers-in-law, Thurman Baker, and Tony Preston and
Aunt Jo Young as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Peggy Baker, and Alice
Preston.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at
the church, 7224 E. Main St. in South Solon with Pastor Bruce Sigman officiating.
A private family burial will be held at a later date at the convenience of the
family. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time
of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions
be sent to Ohio's Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420.
