Obituary

ROBERT DWIGHT BRILL, JR., age 60, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at The Ohio State University James Cancer Center in Columbus, following a courageous battle with metastatic melanoma cancer.

He was born on January 6, 1966 in Washington CH to Robert Dwight Brill, Sr. and Virginia Ann (McDaniel) Brill Nichols.

Robert leaves behind his loving spouse, Nikki Shaffer, and her children; his parents, Virginia (Sonny) Nichols; sister Jody Hargis; his children, Ray (Teah), Tiffany (Willard), Moriah (Ben), Tacara (Ricky), and Gabrielle; and twenty grandchildren. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, and close family friends, Pamela Blankenship, and Bob Camp.

Robert had a love for traveling, discovering new places, and making memories along the way. One of his greatest passions was riding his Harley, enjoying the freedom of the open road that brought him a special kind of happiness, and his love for riding will forever be a part of the memories his family will hold dear.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Robert Brill, Sr.; daughter, Destiny Brill; and brother, Jack Brill.

Though Robert’s passing leaves a tremendous void in the lives of his family and friends, the love he shared and the memories he created will never fade.

As his family mourns this heartbreaking loss, may they find comfort in the time they shared with him and in knowing that the love of a father, grandfather, son, brother, and partner never truly leaves us.

Though his ride on this earth has ended, his journey will never be forgotten.

May the road rise to meet him, may the wind be at his back, and may he ride free forever. Forever loved, forever missed, forever riding free!

The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 19, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Danny Dodds officiating with burial to follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Jeffersonville. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
