ROBERT MORROW CHANEY, age 81, of Washington CH, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at his home.
He was born on April 9, 1935 in Fayette County to Everett and Dolly Thompson Chaney. He was a 1953 graduate of Washington High School. He was owner and operator of Chaney Construction for more than ten years. He proudly served his country in the US Army. He had attended the St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Church. Bob was a member of the VFW Post #3762, Eagles and a past member of the Elks. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, loved construction and working with heavy equipment.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Elizabeth Ann Loudner Chaney, and his son, Robert Morrow Chaney Jr. at infancy.
Survivors include his children Robert (Maida) Chaney, Michael E. (Lisa M.) Chaney, and James D. (Shawn) Chaney; grandchildren, Laural (David) Marrington, Andrew Chaney, Mark Chaney, Maria Chaney, Amanda (Matt) Cordell, Nathan (Jenna) Chaney, Jennifer Chaney, Justin Chaney and Jared (Kylie) Chaney; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Norma Coil and Dean Morrow as well as several nieces, nephews and a host of special friends. Also surviving is his canine companion, Toby.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Tony Garren officiating with burial to follow at the St. Colman of Cloyne Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4-6 p.m.
